Integrative & Strength-Based Supervision

6 Supervision CEUs available upon completion through The Oregon Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.

Cost is $150.  

Materials in this training include over 10 handouts as well as a post-quiz and post-survey, both of which are required for obtaining CEUs.

This training: 

  • Provides overviews of a range of models and hands-on techniques for supervision.
  • Elaborates ways to build a strong and supportive supervision relationship with clear expectations.
  • Includes demonstrations of beginning supervision session and of later sessions involving case consultation and feedback.
  • Offers specific strategies for dealing with common challenges in supervision such as defensiveness, lack of empathy, skill deficits, role confusion, ethics, and evaluation.
  • Integrates strength-based approaches including: trauma-informed, narrative, person-centered, and solution focused.

This training includes close to 5 hours of video presentations and an hour plus of time allotted for review, practice and application. Originally recorded April 3, 2020 in Portland, OR.

This is Part 2 of a 3-part video series which provides the training necessary to become an approved clinical social work supervisor in Oregon. In this section we observe a demonstration of a case consultation and discuss core strategies in supervision.  At the end of this module, we go over licensing requirements for social workers in the state of Oregon.  If you are getting licensed in another state, please substitute this part of the video with a review of the licensing requirements on the board website for your particular state.

This is Part 3 of a 3-part video series which provides the training necessary to become an approved clinical social work supervisor in Oregon. In this section we discuss eliciting feedback, supportive confrontation, theoretical approaches, enhancing empathy, diversity and oppression and more.
